John J. Carney is an attorney and real estate developer with over 50 years of experience in commercial development, investment and the management of apartment buildings and commercial real estate.

John is at his best when exploring the intersection of challenge and lifestyle. Real estate is how he makes a living and the mountains, oceans and wilderness are where John chooses to play. All of these challenges allow him to improve and grow.

John grew up on Lake Erie in Rocky River and was able to spend years observing the ever-changing nature of the, Cleveland’s great amenity and number one natural resource.

There is beauty in the still summer sunrise and beauty in the violent winter storm.

700 Lake will be a sought-after community. There is limited land available to create a luxury, contemporary designed community on the shoreline of Lake Erie, especially in a community like Rocky River.

John is enjoying working on this project with his father and brother. 700 Lake is a once in a lifetime opportunity to make lakefront living available in Rocky River for others to enjoy as John did growing up two miles away.

Working with the Award Winning Team at Brickhaus on the development of 700 Lake factored into John’s decision to move back to Cleveland after seven years of living in Australia. “I have always been drawn to the outdoors and the lifestyle that accompanies it.” The 700 Lake site, combined with the architecture and the interior design, is inspirational.

John is an experienced real estate investor and developer in Australia, Indonesia, and multiple markets in the United States. Prior to moving back to Cleveland in 2016, John was developing real estate on the Surf Cost of Victoria in Torquay, Australia and was the founder of the real estate investment business, America Property Source Pty Ltd. He returned to Cleveland to work on new development and acquisitions for The Landmark Companies.

John is the author of ‘10,000 Miles to the American Dream’, ‘Real Estate is A Team Sport’ and the host of the podcast, ‘The Real Estate Locker Rooms Show.’

John and his wife, Leah, are active, athletic parents who enjoy introducing their children, Xavier and Molly, to the outdoors, action sports, and travel. John is an avid CrossFitter, competes in Spartan Races, and loves to ski and surf.

Michael started with The Landmark Companies in 2002. He’s responsible for sourcing new acquisitions and the management of current Landmark assets. He proudly serves on the Board of Directors for the Downtown Cleveland Improvement Corporation and the Historic Warehouse District Development Corporation.

Mike is considered an urban pioneer and is one of Downtown Cleveland’s loudest cheerleaders.

Mike’s an active donor to the Playhouse Square Foundation where enjoys taking in a variety of live shows. He holds a BS in Criminal Justice from Loyola University of Chicago.
